SUBJECT: WHAT'S GOOD MACHIDA?

Hmmm, the weeks go by so quick I can hardly remember what happened.
Hah, it's already close to transfer week and I feel like I just moved
here to Machida! We'll see though. Hopefully it's not another 1
transfer and out like Fujisawa. There are some really great people
here! Anyways, we went to Shonandai (Fujisawas church) and got our new
"official" iPads for missionary work and there pretty nice. It's
always good to see everyone from old days of the mission and come
together for these kind of events. My man from the Mission Office,
Elder Lobocarro, came down and gave us a training, and I also talked
with a former companion, Elder Bunker about some good times. The
weather is beautiful right now by the way. It's not too humid yet and
it's bright and sunny outside. However, in about 2 weeks, I'll
probably be sweating bullets and feelin all types of humidity.
Yup, we also did a few visits to non-members and less-actives this
week which was fun. Well, we actually didn't have any success until
the last one, but that was a lot of fun. They invited us right in and
immediately fed us some food without us asking. They are a way funny
less active couple and their son was there too which was great. The
Bishop had been wanting us to visit this great family and so it was a
good success to see them and their son there as well. The couple are
way opposite in their likes and dislikes and makes for a hilarious
bunch of conversations! And at the end we shared a video on prayer and
told them all about how it's helped us in our lives. They still said
it's impossible to come to church, but we committed them to pray and
if that can help them out even a little bit, I'll be happy.
We also had a great lesson with Suzuki さん and he is really thinking
about baptism now. He seemed to have some problems and concerns with
it in the past but we were able to make some ground with our one and
only real investigator at the moment. This is a rough area for new
investigators, but we're doing our best and talking to all these
wonderful Japanese folk.
Had a great day at church yesterday and got to hear some nice
talks. Finally I can understand a little bit of what's going on at
church, haha. The Japanese language is a beast of a language. But I
have a love for it and the incredible people that live here.
Rough days, but a Happy Mission.

Love you all!

Elder Carlini
